    • Meets Wednesdays in the Board of Ministry Conference Room in Memorial Church from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Please contact Barbara Gilmore at (617) 495-2042.

     

    The services are available throughout the year to assist with a variety of concerns, included academic issues, anxiety, loneliness, relationship conflicts, problems with substance abuse, bereavement, etc. Please do not hesitate to contact them. In addition, this list will be made available and continually updated on the HGC website, http://hgc.harvard.edu/.


    Organization of the Student Advocacy Committee:

    Jason_Rafferty@hms.harvard.edu, Vice President of Student Advocacy: Chairs student advocacy committee, oversees all committee initiatives, and reports progress back to the executive board and the general council.

     

    Coordinator of Administrative Affairs (1): Communicates with the President, Provost, and, if necessary, Vice-Presidents on generalized issues of graduate student advocacy.


    Coordinator of Community Services, Partnerships, & Collaboration (1-2): Formally the Public Service Chair. Oversees initiatives aimed at increasing graduate engagement/participation in the local community, promoting collaboration among graduate service organizations, and maintaining connections to community partners. Also, plays an integral role in planning the annual Day of Service.


    Coordinator of Academic Affairs & Collaboration (1-2): Formally the Academic and Cross-Registration Chairs. Responsible for communicating with the Deans of Students at each of the graduate school on issues related to academic and student life. Also, promotes academic/research collaboration and dialogue across schools and academic disciplines.


    Coordinator of Extracurricular Affairs & Collaboration (1): Responsible for overseeing general advocacy issues related to student organizations, governance, and athletics across schools.


    Coordinator of Health Services and Operations (1): Formally the UHS, Transportation, and Safety/Environment Chairs. Advocates on behalf of the HGC and all graduate students in front of UHS, UOS, Harvard Police, and security.


    Coordinator of Diversity Affairs: Formally the International Students and Minority Students Chairs. Advocates on the HGC and throughout the University on the behalf of all groups, including those under-represented based on ethnicity, culture, race, citizenship, sexual orientation, age, religion, and physical ability.

     

    * A “Liaison to the Undergraduate Council” may be appointed if necessary.
