***Harvard Graduate Council Presents: A Fine Wine and Cheese Holiday Tasting***
Saturday, December 15th, 2007 at 5pm

Cambridge Queen’s Head (below Memorial Hall) 45 Quincy St Cambridge

Our end-of-the-year holiday wine and cheese event was open to the first 50 graduate students who sent an RSVP to the Harvard Graduate Council’s email address. A sommelier was on hand to provide insight into the samples. All expenses were covered by the HGC.

 

 

 

***HGC Social Networking and Fundraiser Event at Harvard's Queen's Head Pub in Cambridge***

30+ Students joined us at the monthly social networking event on the eve of the Harvard-Yale football game to help raise funds for those families devastated by the recent forest fires in California. The HGC asked students to donate 5$ at the door. All funds were then be dispersed to local charities. This event was part of the Student Advocacy Committee’s efforts to connect students affect by the disaster with services offered on campus and in the area. The HGC released this letter to the Harvard Community.

 

 

***Ivy League Graduate School Council Summit***
Nov 2-4, 2007

 

HGC Executive board members Christopher Laconi, Ashley Pollock, Jason Rafferty, and Adam Cohen-Aslatei attended the annual Ivy Grad School Summit hosted by Brown University. The delegates exchanged ideas with other Ivy grad councils through forums designated to many of the common goals
and challenges that grad councils face. The delegation reported back to the council at the next meeting.

 

 

***13th annual Ivy Halloween Bash***
Friday, October 26, 2007 9:00 PM-1:00 AM 20$ in advance; 25$ at the door
Harvard Main Clubhouse, 374 Commonwealth Ave Boston, MA 02215

 

The Younger Members Committee and partnered with the Harvard Graduate Council teamed up with other young alumni from Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn, Princeton, and Yale for an evening of ghostly dancing and entertainment. Dress was in costume or creative black tie, and all area Ivy League alumni were invited to attend. A cash bar was be available, and hot and cold hors d'ouevres were served.
